The focus for Nancy Whitenack, owner of Conduit Gallery, from its inception in 1984, has been a commitment to exhibit and promote work by the most promising artists in Texas. The result is a series of exhibitions and installations over the years confirming the gallery’s reputation for showing substantive, provocative and original works.
Conduit Gallery opened in March, 1984, in Deep Ellum. A major decision was made in 2002 to expand the gallery, and a move to the Dallas Design District presented many new opportunities. In its current space on Hi Line Drive, the gallery has achieved a number of goals: three exhibition spaces, including a Project Room for unrepresented young artists; a great neighborhood with plenty of parking; light, airy spaces which welcome visitors, and most importantly, a represented group of artists who are regionally and nationally recognized, with work in such collections as The Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth; The Metropolitan Museum, New York; The Houston Fine Arts Museum, and the Dallas Museum of Art, among others.
